Today, I visited the Queen of Quiapo, Nuestra Señora del Carmen, Coronada of San Sebastian Church.
My warmest thanks for Fr. Rommel Rubia for touring me around the magnificent church and allowing me to meet the queen up-close.
For the knowledge of others, this image of Virgen del Carmer was once a victim of theft. July 09, 1975 was a sad day for the church and devotees of the Virgen. The ivory head and hands of the virgen and the ivory Santo Niño were stolen. Fortunately the Santo Niño and hands were recovered, but the head is still currently missing. The virgen was canonically crowned in the year 1991.
